Submit Your Best Thai Appetizer Recipe for a Chance to Win Cash Prizes from SheSimmers.com

All US residents over the age of 18 are invited to submit* their original Thai appetizer recipe for a chance to win one first prize of $599 and one second prize of $399. All entries must be in the form of a blog post or a short (no longer than 3 minutes) video clip detailing how to create a Thai or Thai-inspired appetizer recipe. (The videos may or may not feature a person. Slideshows and stop-motion videos will be accepted.) We’re looking for an appetizer recipe with broad appeal which best represents the flavors of Thai cuisine, is easy to make, and calls for ingredients that are easy to find. If your recipe goes well with beer, that's even better! Your post must be published on your blog or your video uploaded onto YouTube after June 27th. The title of your post or video must contain “Thai Recipe Contest Hosted by SheSimmers.com.” All contestants retain the rights to their recipes. Submit the URL of your post or video listing to shesimmers[at]gmail.com by 11:59 pm CDT on July 11th, 2011. The entry will be deemed made by the owner of the blog or video containing the recipe. One entry per person. Three judges will select their two favorite recipes as finalists. The finalists will be announced on July 15th through a posting on SheSimmers.com.. The winner will then be determined by popular votes. Voting is open to all and done by leaving a comment in response to the post on SheSimmers.com announcing the finalists. One vote per person. The finalist with the highest number of votes as of 11:59 pm CDT on July 18th, 2011, as determined in Chicago, Illinois, wins the first prize, and the finalist with the second highest number of votes wins the second prize. The Prize winners will be announced on SheSimmers.com on the following day. Prize winners are solely responsible for the reporting and payment of any applicable federal, state and/or local taxes.
The panel of judges include: Bill Daley – Daley is a food and feature writer for the Chicago Tribune. He covers chefs and food personalities as well as cooking techniques and trends. One of his fields of expertise is food and beverage pairing. Mike Sula – Sula is a James Beard-nominated food and restaurant critic for the Chicago Reader. A big fan of Thai cuisine and highly knowledgeable about the subject, Sula has written numerous articles about Thai food and Thai restaurants in the United States. David Hammond – Hammond writes the weekly Food Detective column in the Chicago Sun-Times and produces food-related segments for WBEZ (91.5FM), Chicago’s National Public Radio Station. He is also co-founder and co-moderator of LTHForum.com, the almost 10,000 member Chicago-based culinary chat site. None of the judges is affiliated with SheSimmers.com or its advertisers. *By submitting an entry, you agree that the entry is gratuitous, unsolicited and without restriction and will not place the contest sponsor under any obligation, and that the contest sponsor is free to use and disclose the entry and ideas contained therein on a nonconfidential basis to anyone without any additional compensation to you.
